UK – Lightrhythm today released its 10th title in 5 years, the “aple ep” by audiovisual artist amoeba a.k.a. Scott McPherson. The 5 track EP highlights amoebas creative process by the same name – arrange.process.loop.edit. and launches with a remix competition “restrukture” hosted by cyberbrothers offering the chance for viewers to take part in the album to be released at a later date. With remixes by a string of artists including Dubassy, Tom Wall, Sheppee, Pitch Visuelle and In:vis[ible] (finally breaking some russian artists !), vj clips and hidden tracks this stormer of a release is available now from all of our distributors.
amoeba’s EP delivers a matured, stylized motion graphic which he has developed over the past years in the visual arts scene. The audiovisual sequences lean toward typographic abstraction, creating worlds where the elemental play of structure, colour and beat compete for the leading role. Varying approaches yield a range of moods: from the glitched out animation of “dubgrade glitch” to the rhythmic alternating sync of “micro-glitch machine funk” and “vector glitch battle”.
The audiovisual project has been made with ableton live controlling vj software later edited and adjusted. It includes an abundance of VJ clips, vectors, image files and, hidden tracks, as well as a competition entry form to take part in the forthcoming album.
About Amoeba – Amoeba started to work under the alias in 1995, as a one man creative design studio, providing art-direction and design for print, publishing, motion graphics and music video direction.
