As you can see this photo was taken before I produced some of the tour visuals for japanese singer crystal K. The 10 year anniversary of the crystal had to be a signature tour and in collaboration with Hibino – I produced some visuals for this live show which hit up ten major cities in Japan. It was a fairly quick affair – actually all took place in less than 4 days as I came into the project pretty close to the end to fill a growing need from the stage director. They didnt know VJLoops.tv – so I called up my boy kyle and he sent me over a few packs (paid for of course) and them whipped them up with some AE 3d stunts and bobs your uncle – or rather Crystals uncle.

Im curating for a partner, video / film and animation contents for a new visual arts channel called cyberbrothers released on the 15th of febraury 2010. I will be doing the occassional vlog review as well as building their library – so far managing to bring on board ywft, one dot zero and mixmaster tv project. The channel is the first real online tv / streaming video website like youtube – which really curates it content and focuses on visual arts – I’m also learning quite a lot about russian animation as the founding body behind this is based in Moscow. Have been in talks to go over and do a performance for the opening event.

visuals for exile

I directed and produced visuals for this largish band in tokyo “exile” this year. I say large – the band has 14 members ??? besides the 50 kids they had dancing on stage at parts. I guess for the japanese girls theres gotta be one stud in there – so maybe its a win win situation. Anyway with Amina Abdala on 3d virtualization we produced a series of screen simulations and eventually produced seemless visuals for two circular led screens that rose and fell over the top of the stage. It was stelth LED which means that at times its seethrough which made for some nice holographic opportunities – not viewable in the video above – but loads of stuff on youtube fore these guys. This track above was the 2nd track into the tour set list and a pretty big number in the charts also.

This is a short preview of my recent performance at Visualux; and audiovisual event that I have been running at superdeluxe. The goal of the event is to encourage an interactive educational element to an otherwise regular club/lounge event.

I have begun working on a series of virtual reality elements for the film 21foundation shot by gisli snaer and written by steve baker. the movie set for release in march. It focuses on how education should change to reflect the curve of technology and evolution.

I produced several statistical and factual animations to quickly deliver key points about the growing crisis of refugee problems as part of the refugees international japan 30th anniversary. designed as a six screen immersive environment and presented through a cinema lecture for the “rhythm and hope” event.

SPAIN : I performed with other lightrhythm artsts Barcelona Primvera Sound Festival which took place at Parc Del Forum on 30th of May 2009. Working alongside Ellen Allien and Samian Mobile Disco – I hit up main stage with an attendance recorded at an all time high of 60,000.

For this event I have to thank fellow lightrhythm artist Joana Lopes who recommended me for the event and worked herself to the bone over the course of the weekend. The event was keenly covered by leading visuals TV program UIT Visual from Japan – you can see coverage of the event » here

Release :: Notations 02

GLOBAL : I am featuring a new track “Pinch of Peer” (audio by Kettel) on Lightrhythm’s next release Notations 02, which to be distributed from Nov.20th 2008. The compilation features other leading world artists from 5 continents and has been quoted as “…turning points in visual culture.” (tokyo design magazine).

Featuring V2labs, IUA, Scott Pagano, C-TRL, VJ Culture and talented newcomers Shantell Martin, Flapper 3 and Joana Lopes the next release is a great opportunity to see so many leading contemporary visual artists side by side.

Commercial :: Boom Boom Satellites

Following up from the AMVJ Competition Sony Music and Juggler commissioned me to produce Boom Boom Satellites new PV for the track “Shut up and Explode”. Wanting to continue their “visual remix” flavour I was lucky enough to be teamed up with the director of the Gundam series Yasuhiro Imagawa and “mashup” the contents of his new anime – ZAMD.
